Americanos, somehow or the other are a part of several events that you're going to learn about just now. You might think these are made up, and you'd be absolutely correct (all except the last one). Any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental.

  • When Kim Kardashian first thought of her infamous video, she'd just had a double Americano
  • When the moon rises where you live, an Americano will make you feel like singing in Italian
  • Harry Potter drinks Americanos spiked with pumpkin juice
  • If you feed your dogs Americanos, they start hearing angels sing
  • If you put Americanos out for your cats, they'll destroy every fabric in your home
  • Oscar Wilde famously said that he could resist everything except temptation he secretly sipped Americanos instead of tea
  • Americanos are great cures for bad moods.

There are a lot more mystical facts about Americanos that could be conjured up, but it's better to make some of your own after making one with our eco-friendly coffee pod.

Why Machine-free Coffee Brings all the Boys and Girls to the Yard

You know already that milkshakes bring boys to the yard. But, did you know machine-freecoffee brings everyone into your crib? Everyone with a sensible head on his or her shoulders wants amazing tasting coffee.

But not all want a giant, slow or complicated machine using up major kitchen space! Plus machines take up time to clean and maintain, when you have better things to do with your weekend.

Most important, machines make poor quality coffee because they force very hot water at high temperature through coffee grounds trying to force out flavours that should be gently teased out - the way we do it in our artisanal microfiltery.

Plenty of research shows that machines are full of germs and even attract roaches!

Machine-free coffee is not just a fad, but it's the wave of the future. You already have enough issues in your life, enjoying a beautiful coffee in the comfort of your home is no longer one of them! So dive deep into the wonderful world of Caffè di Artisan espresso pods and enjoy the taste of the Caffè at home.

Black or White

Michael Jackson said it best, probably in self-defense, but baby it don't matter if you're black or white. The beauty of Americans and Americanos both is their versatility. You can enjoy an Americano straight up black without sugar. The same drink can be had with a touch of hot or cold milk. It's entirely up to you! We strongly suggest using espresso capsules to try both ways. Variety is the spice of life.

Just like the things you whisper to your loved ones, every little thing matters. From the temperature of the water to the type of liquid luxury coffee pod you choose to make the Americano with. We've experienced, first hand, that changing even the smallest ingredient while brewing up an Americano can make a major difference.

So, don't be boring or shy. Go ahead and experiment with your coffee daily.

Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 single serve luxury coffee pods from Caffè di Artisan
  • 150-240 ml or 5-8oz of hot water
  • Sugar to taste
  • Whole milk, heated or room temperature based on your choice (for the White Americano)

Directions for Black Americano

1. Choose which exotic Caffè di Artisan variant to choose to make this cup of Americano. This is the only part of the exercise that may take more than a couple of seconds and hence we are giving our recommendations at the end of the recipe.

2. Pour one Caffè di Artisan liquid single-serve coffee shot into a 8 oz (240 ml) cup, froth for 2-3 seconds for a rich crema.

We provide a free frother with your first order to get this bit right.

Of course, some of you may not want to the froth at all. That is perfectly fine too

Tip: If you prefer to use a larger cup (12 or 16 Oz), you may like to use two pods

3. Pour 150 ml or 5 oz. of hot water (between 195 F/91 C and 205 F/96 C) into the cup.

4. Your Americano is ready in 15 seconds flat

Enjoy!

Tip: Even if you usually use sugar/ syrup/sweetener in your Americano, taste before adding any. Caffè di Artisan coffee can be zesty with a long, lingering taste...but never has burnt or bitter notes.

Decisions... decisions

Now for the only hard part of the Making It process: the choice of the coffee variant to make your Americans.

You can choose one based on careful thought or on a whim... They are all worth trying.

The Colombian Raro with a classic profile with strong caramelly sweetness.

Intensity : Mild Roast : Medium

The Ethiopian Asmara from the cradle of coffee, if you enjoy a densely sweet berry flavor.

Intensity : Medium Roast : Medium

The Indian Vilasita for a buttery smooth, spicy, nutty latte with tasting notes of nutmeg, pistachio and cocoa.

Intensity : Medium-strong Roast : Medium Dark

The Peru Organique (USDA-certified organic) for a sweet herbal flavor with citrusy tones. Intensity : Medium Roast : Medium

But when you want something really special, here are our recommendations (Remember these are still a fraction of the cost of coffee shop drinks for a much superior coffee). Plus, you do deserve the touch of luxury in your life, don't you.

The Nilgiri Organique: Every bit deserving of its 200 plus years heritage. Organic coffee with intensity of a different scale. Flavors will burst upon your palate. Spicy woody overtones. Chocolaty undertones.

Warning: the Nilgiri Organique can be addictive.

Intensity : Strong Roast : Medium Dark

The Malabar: the fabled iconic monsooned Malabar. Unique notes of the sea.

Intensity : Strong Roast : Medium Dark

Not to forget, if you are a decaf drinker, try making an Americano with our Decaf. You will never be able to guess that it's deCaffèinated!

Why machine-made coffee isn't The Real Deal

Machine-made coffees simply don't cut it. Their whole process (or tech, as millennials might put it) is all seriously messed up.

Coffee machines force very hot water at high pressure through delicate coffee grounds, which is the reason for the burnt and bitter taste.

This is no way to treat something so vulnerable.

How can such violence, this savagery, yield great coffee?

Truly great coffee, extracted slowly and lovingly, does not taste bitter.

In the Caffè di Artisan micro-filtery flavors are teased out from coffee beans over days...not forced out.

Why we invented Caffè di Artisan liquid coffee pods
